MVCC Policies and Procedures 

Production Fees:

Registration fee(s): $75 per child 

The Participation fee will be charged at the first rehearsal. 

Music, costumes, and props are covered by the fees and donations.

Parent/Guardian Participation:

The MVCC  is grateful to MES for generously providing rehearsal space. To ensure rehearsals are organized, run smoothly, and maximize practice time for all students, please sign up to help at rehearsals and performances during the season. Parents/guardians can sign up using SignUpGenius. Your participation helps us maintain a safe, structured, and productive environment, and ensures we can continue using the space for future sessions.

 

Release of Liability:

Parents and legal guardians of minors waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained at rehearsal or performance venues resulting from normal lessons or class activities or any other activity conducted by the students before, during or after the lesson/rehearsal/performance/activity time. Pictures of students in class activities or performances may be used for class photos, t-shirts, studio website, social media posts, press releases and publicity materials. MVCC is not responsible for lost or stolen property.

 

Attendance:

 

Good attendance at rehearsals helps to ensure that we are providing good musical quality performances. Please try  to make it to as many rehearsals as you can.  Please email mvchildrenschoir@gmail.com or text Kayli Sorenson 801-845-8238 if you must miss a rehearsal or performance.

 

What We Expect from Choir Members:

 

1. Be on time for all rehearsals and performances. 

2. No gum, food, or drinks (except water bottle) at rehearsals or performances. 

3. Leave all toys at home, in the car, or with an adult. They cause major distractions during rehearsals. 

4. Only registered choir members and parents are allowed at rehearsals. Friends or siblings are not 

allowed to attend. It is a liability and a distraction.

5. Use the bathroom before rehearsals or performances. 

6. Pay attention to the director. 

7. Listen to music and practice in between rehearsals

8. Come ready to sing, learn, and have FUN!

 

What You Can Expect from the Directors:

 

1. We will be prepared for each rehearsal and performance

2. We will start and end on time.

3. We will communicate important information clearly and often through email and Group Me.

4. We will be reachable by phone in emergencies.

5. We will treat each singer as an individual learner and encourage all singers to wholly develop through actively experiencing and creating music.

6. We will handle behavior situations calmly and consistently and communicate issues clearly and objectively to families if they arise.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISKS AGREEMENT

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE INITIALING

 

I, the undersigned, being at least 18 years of age, hereby represent that I am the parent or legal guardian of the child(ren) named below (individually and collectively referred to hereinafter as "my Child"). This agreement is valid and binding for the entire 2026 MVCC season.

I understand that the MVCC will include a variety of activities, including but not limited to singing, art projects, and standing on risers. I also understand that my Child will be performing in front of others. 

1. I understand that participating in choir involves RISKS, DANGERS AND HAZARDS, including but not limited to conditions in standing, walking on risers, singing and playing with others. I UNDERSTAND THAT MISHAPS WHICH MAY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH CAN OCCUR.

2. I HEREBY FULLY RELEASE, INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS Morgan Valley Children's Choir, representatives, agents, affiliates, partners, officers, and directors hereinafter collectively (“MVCC”) of and from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever for any loss, damage, injury, illness or harm of any kind and nature arising from my Child’s participation in MVCC, INCLUDING CLAIMS OF NEGLIGENCE. In addition, I AGREE TO INDEMNIFY and hold MVCC HARMLESS of and from any harm, injury, damage or loss to persons and/or property which my Child may cause and/or contribute to while participating in the MVCC 2026 season

3. I authorize MVCC to call for medical care for my Child or to transport my Child to a hospital if, in the opinion of anyone working at MVCC, medical attention is needed for my Child. I agree that upon the transporting of my Child to any medical facility, clinic or hospital that the responsibility shall be totally fulfilled and MVCC shall not have any further responsibility for my Child.

4. I agree to pay all costs associated with such medical care and related transportation for my Child and INDEMNIFY and hold MVCC HARMLESS from any costs incurred therefore.

5. I warrant and represent that my Child is in good health and there are no special problems associated with the care of my Child and I have left no special instructions regarding my Child, unless contained in WAIVER.

6. By initialing below, I agree to all the Reservation, Payment, No-show, Cancellation and Refund policies, including but not limited to canceling or changing my product(s) before 5 p.m. MST two (2) days prior to the activity date in order to receive a full refund or be assessed the applicable fee; per terms of email or verbal confirmation. I agree to pay MVCC the full cost  $75 by Jan 6, 2026. By doing so I secure my spot in the choir and will also receive a promotional product. Payments made after Jan 10, 2026 may not guarantee a spot in the club or a club promotional product. Payments on or after Jan 10, 2026 will require a late fee of $15 per family. 

7. To the extent any portion of this Agreement is deemed unenforceable, the remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect. Any legal action against MVCC will be brought in Morgan County, Utah and Utah law will govern.
